Day 1    African View Lodge

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport - greeted by Africa Nature Photography team and driven to African View Lodge for light snack, short orientation, and overnight. 

Day 2   African View Lodge

AM: Early breakfast and Orientation (till 11:30AM) to discuss procedures at each camp, internet, tipping guidelines, securing valuables and cash, laundry options, get to know each other and answer all questions. Photo Instruction: Russ will go over camera settings to best capture action, discuss flash techniques, and explain how to use the MagMod to help improve your bird and mammal images.  Lunch at lodge at noon.

PM:  Game drive in Arusha National Park to look for potential kingfishers, bee eaters, storks, colobus monkeys, baboons, waterbucks, and fish eagles and practice using the MagMod - it’s a great tool to majorly improve the light in your images.

Day 3   Tarangire Sopa Lodge

AM: Leave African View Lodge to arrive in Tarangire NP in time for lunch at the Sopa Lodge. 

PM: Game drive in Tarangire National Park. The focus will be the Tarangire River and forested areas to look for birds and mammals.

Day 4   Tarangire Sopa Lodge

AM + PM: game drives in Tarangire National Park. The focus will be the Tarangire River and forested areas to look for birds and other mammals. Lunch at the Sopa Lodge.

Day 5    Overnight at Ngorongoro Crater Sopa Lodge

AM:  Morning game drive in Tarangire NP game drive. Drive to Mto Wa Mbu for local lunch for a cultural experience unlike any other!! 

PM:  Drive to Ngorongoro Highlands and have game drive en route.  Arrive at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge for a relaxing dinner.

Day 6    Overnight at Ngorongoro Crater Sopa Lodge

AM + PM: Full day game drive in the Crater. Highlights will be the African Crowned Crane, bee eater, secretary bird, augur buzzard, storks, tawny eagle, and the big game mammals that inhabit the Crater.

Day 7    Overnight at Sametu Deluxe Tented Camp

AM: Morning game drive in the Crater.  Enjoy a picnic lunch and then drive to the Serengeti.

PM: Game drive in the Serengeti to look for any great species in great light.  Check in at the Sametu camp and enjoy dinner.

Day 8     Overnight at Sametu Deluxe Tented Camp

AM: Morning game drive in the Serengeti.  Lunch at the camp.

PM: Game drive in the Serengeti to look for any great species in great light.  Dinner at the Sametu camp 

Day 9    Overnight at Sametu Deluxe Tented Camp

AM: Morning game drive in the Serengeti.  Lunch at the camp.

PM: Game drive in the Serengeti to look for any great species in great light.  Dinner at the Sametu camp

Day 10    Overnight at Sametu Deluxe Tented Camp

AM + PM: Early morning and afternoon game drives in the Central Serengeti areas. In between game drives we will return to Sametu Deluxe camp for lunch.

Day 11    Lake Masek Tented camp

AM: Early morning game drive in the area of Sametu camp and then proceed to Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu forest where the bird and wild cat population is amazing. The number of species is off the charts and potential for great images will blow your mind.  

PM: Game drive in the Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu forest where the bird and wild cat population is amazing. The number of species is off the charts and potential for great images is everywhere.  Off road driving is permitted.

Day 12    Lake Masek Tented camp

AM + PM: Game drive in the Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu forest where the bird and wild cat population is amazing. The number of species is off the charts and potential for great images is everywhere. We will return to the camp for lunch. Off road driving is permitted.

Day 13    Lake Masek Tented camp

AM + PM: Game drive in the Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu forest where the bird and wild cat population is amazing. The number of species is off the charts and potential for great images is everywhere. We will return to the camp for lunch. Off road driving is permitted.

Day 14  Overnight in African View Lodge

AM + PM: Early morning game drive in the Lake Masek / Ndutu areas en route to Fame Clinic for Covid 19 Sample taking – Drive to Mto Wa Mbu for local lunch – Drive to cultural Heritage for optional Shopping – Drive to African view for Overnight.

Day 15 A leisure day and day use room at African View lodge.  Late afternoon transport to Kilimanjaro International Airport for our flights home.
