Why go on a Russ Burden Photo Safari to Tanzania?

Each person will have an entire row in the safari vehicle for 360 degree photography opportunities.

  • With only two vehicles, when something great happens, we all get opportunistic angles.

  • Permits are purchased for both the Ngorongoro Conservation Area AND Serengeti National Park. If an animal is spotted in one area, we’re allowed to cross boundary lines to photograph all species we see.

  • We go INTO the Ngorongoro Crater for our sessions. Driving the rim of the crater IS NOT the same as having a permit to do a game drive IN the crater. Beware of the safari operator who simply drives the rim and does not purchase the necessary permit to go inside the Crater where the animals dwell.

  • Permits are purchased for the Gol Kopjes. The Gol Kopjes are synonymous with unsurpassed big cat sightings. Additionally, if the cats are in the Gol Kopje area, we’ll be provided multiple sessions following them.

  • The price - you won’t find a better bargain for the photo expertise you’ll receive in addition to the knowledge of the safari leaders.

  • Instruction, photographic guidance, and important reminders of what to do and look for will always occur.

  • Learn about composition, light, fill flash, action, timing, depth of field, and more.

  • You’ll be taught photography, not just brought to a location.

  • Ask your photography related questions and have them answered clearly and concisely.

  • All deluxe meals during the safari are included in the cost.

  • Flights within the Serengeti are included as well as all transportation while in the parks.

  • The tour vehicles have unlimited gas mileage so we can drive where we want - beware of a company that limits your miles.

  • The drivers know the area inside out and are flexible as to where they can go.

  • The drivers are highly skilled professionals. They are trained for photographers. They know how to approach each subject for the best light.
