His stock work is sold through Getty Images and often shows up in magazines and advertisements around the world. Russ is a multiple time winner of the prestigious Nature's Best Windland Smith Rice Award. As a result, his images have appeared in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC numerous times. In the 2016 Nature's Best Windland Smith Rice Competition Africa Division, Russ has four photos that were Honored, one that is Highly Honored and one that won the Wild Cats Portraits Division - all photos were made during his safaris! Russ Burden is an internationally published photographer. His images have appeared on calendars published by Inner Reflections, Kodak, Audubon, Sierra Club, and National Wildlife. He is a multiple time award winner in the annual Windland Smith Rice International Nature’s Best competition and as a result, many of his photographs have hung in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Russ runs nature photography tours to many locations around the US in the spring, fall and winter. Destinations include the Tetons and Yellowstone, Oregon Coast, Bryce and Zion in the fall, Monument Valley, White Sands NM and Bosque Del Apache, and many other locations. For years he has been writing weekly HOW TO columns for TakeGreatPictures.com and currently has a number of How To articles on the Outdoor Photographer website. His work is marketed through Photo Library and often shows up in magazines and advertisements around the world. Russ has two books to his credit - Amphoto's Complete Guide to Photography and The Best of Nature by Amherst Media. He is also an accomplished portrait photographer in the Denver, Colorado area.
Russ teaches all level classes for the prestigious Panasonic Digital Photo Academy in addition to being the author of all five curriculums offered by the Academy throughout the entire United States.
