The Colorado high country is unrivaled for its spectacular beauty. Add in fields of columbine, lupine, paintbrush, mules ears, scarlet gilia, and many other species of colorful flora, and the sound of shutters will echo off the high peaks as you capture gigabyte after gigabyte of information. The focus of the tour will be the wildflowers but we'll also capture images of aspen groves, high mountain peaks, ghost towns, alpine lakes, pristine rivers, wildlife and many other subjects that appear in front of our lenses.
Besides capturing images of the spectacular Colorado scenery, image optimization and critique sessions will be held as time permits. Everyone will get together and be given hints on how to improve composition, lighting, and the technical aspects of their digital captures. You'll also be shown how to improve your captures using Photoshop, Adobe Camera RAW, Lightroom and the complete suite of Nik software.
Russ will be joined by guest tour co leader, Marv Mickelson, who has unsurpassed knowledge of every Colorado wildflower hot spot imaginable. His landscape and wildflower images adorn many calendars and the walls of many top businesses and high profile people around the country. Russ and Marv will bring you to the Crested Butte area in addition to the most spectacular locations in the San Juan Mountains. In the field you'll learn how to develop the skills needed to make photographs that portray the beauty of the places we'll visit. The workshop is limited to 8 participants so the instructor to student ratio will not go over 1 to 4. Cost: $1,875.00 + $375.00 for single supplement (Price subject to gasoline surcharge if necessary).
